ZACK's graphite coating finish employs a surface treatment technology called PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition). This technology forms an extremely thin film at the atomic and molecular level, where metals and ceramics are vaporized in a vacuum and physically deposited onto the surface of the substrate (the object being treated), creating a hard and highly durable film.
The graphite finish produced by this PVD coating is characterized by a deep dark gray hue, combining the substantiality of black stainless steel with a metallic texture.
Due to its color, it is sometimes referred to as "gunmetal" in Japan.
